CONCERTS
Melodia typically presents two public concerts per year; one during the Christmas season, and one in the early spring. A wide variety of repertoire is presented, ranging from newly composed choral works to traditional favourites, folksongs, spirituals - even a bit of jazz and pop favourites! Our programs are very carefully crafted to ensure our audience has a meaningful and enjoyable musical experience.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
It is part of Melodia's Mission Statement to make itself available to sing for local community events when asked. Melodia has sung for the Fairmount Homes Butterfly Release, at Senior's Homes, local community luncheons and churches. As a smaller chamber choir, we can "fit in" almost anywhere! Our extensive repertoire list enables us to choose music for any occasion.
FUNDRAISING
Melodia is very proud to have been involved in various local fundraising concerts through the years. Annually, 100% of all the donations received at our Christmas concert, along with all the donated food items, goes to the Gananogue Food Bank. Almost $2,000 was raised at the 2023 concert! Melodia welcomes any opportunity to assist organizations in fundraising through concerts.
